What happens to the house in Divorce?

In some cases, the parent who does the majority of the child rearing will get the marital home. If one partner purchased the house alone and there are no kids, that partner may get to stay in the home. If kids are not involved, neither spouse can legally claim exclusive rights to the house while they are married, and they may have to come up with a reasonable compromise.

Florida Statutes regarding division of assets sometimes leaves room for interpretation.  An experienced and effective divorce attorney is a must when negotiating a marriage.

When valuable assets are involved, a divorce could become messy. Think about getting a divorce lawyer to make sure you get your fair share of any assets.
