Personal Background Questions During Car Accident Deposition

During a car accident deposition, you will probably be asked the following:

  1. Your legal name, address, cell phone number, and date of birth.
  2. Your mailing address and your residences for the past 10 years.
  3. Your educational background, what schools you have attended, and any degrees, if any, obtained at those schools. Any training or continuing education classes you have taken since you left school.
  4. You will be asked to describe your family background, including:
    • Your marital status
    • The number of children you have and their ages
    • Your current living situation and who resides in the home with you
  1. Your medical and health background.
    • You will be asked to list any injuries and medical issues you had before the car accident,
    • You will be asked to detail any injuries and medical injuries you have experienced since the car accident,
    • Likewise, you will be asked to describe any chronic health problems you currently have, and
    • You will be asked to list the doctors you have seen during the last 10 years. You will be asked to explain any types of treatment you have received, paying special attention to treatment on any parts of your body that were injured in this accident.
  1. Your Employment Background:
    • You will be asked to list your last several jobs, within the last five to ten years,
    • Your current job title, duties, responsibilities, physical requirements, if any, hours, pay, supervisors, and managers, and
    • Explain any time you have missed work during the last five years and why and for how much time.
  1. Criminal background:
    • You will be asked if you have ever been convicted of a crime? If applicable, you will be asked to describe the crime, the original charge, and what you pled to, if applicable.
  1. Injury/civil claims background:
    • You will be asked if you have ever filed any type of civil lawsuit?

You will also be asked if you have ever made any type of administrative claims, such as workers compensation claims, etc.
