When it comes to divorce, almost all property is fair game. However, spouses can’t hope to get their fair shares if they don’t know the value of assets.

It makes no sense to “guess” at the value of that vase, this piece of art, the house, or especially a business. It is rare that there isn’t someone that can give an honest appraisal of anything. It is much easier to get this done while not in litigation with your ex, if at all possible. Perhaps its time to re-evaluate property insurance?

Doing your homework now is the best way to come out ahead down the line.
