Does my juvenile child have a right to a trial in criminal proceedings?

This again depends as there isn’t a constitutional right to be tried as a child due to age.  A child can demand to be tried as an adult or could be transferred for prosecution as an adult in some situations. Should children get a delinquency petition against them or if they plead not guilty, a juvenile judge will hear the case. If your child gets prosecuted as an adult, the trial will be similar to any other adult criminal proceeding. If tried in juvenile court, there will be no jury. A judge will decide the case.

With juvenile criminal offences on the rise, it is critical to protect your child, and your family.  Call the criminal attorneys at Brandon Legal Group, Get help.
